31 August 2010, Lincoln, 0.0 We made the quick drive this morning to Glencliff to pick up my hiking clothes I left there. Just before I left Mad Mike called me on my cell phone. He had left Glencliff 20 minutes ago and was driving my way. I told him that we had to head back there to get my hiking clothes. He said he would call me around 10 am again and see where I was so we could hock up. It was great to hear from Mad Mike. I started a Springer with Mad Mike, Geo and Hopper. Mike only ...
30 August 2010, North Woodstock I spent the first part of the morning organizing and getting all my winter gear back into my pack. I start the Whites in two days. I am more concerned about the weather in the Whites than I was about the weather in the Smoky Mountains. It can be really windy in the Whites and I will be in a hammock. I do have my under quilt for the hammock and I will also carry a rubber foam pad too. It should be enough but I am a cold sleeper, will keep my fingers crossed ...

It was a skunk, it tried to get into Sandman's food bag. We all woke up to the sound of it trying to get into the ...

Tuesday is the climb up South and North Kinsman Mountain. Wednesday is the start the White Mountains. The climbing is about to start. I am not looking forward to this at all. I just realized that because of my one reservation at Zealand Fall Hut on 02 September that I am ...
27 August 2010, Hanover Today started out a lot better than it did for me yesterday. I was able to pick back up with my two mile per hour pace. I did notice a few things about the trail today that in my opinion should be taken care off soon. There were two different areas when the old trail was rerouted but you could see the white blazes from the new reroute. This could be a potential hazard for a hiker in the future. These blazes should at least be removed from the view ...
