im going to be hiking the ct section of the at and i would like to kno what kind of gear i would need, were to resuply on food and water, are there maps i can buy that tell me this kind of stuff im just a new hiker and would like some extra info before i go off on my hike

When we bought our Shangri-la 3, I had seen several references to an SL 3 adapter that extended a trekking pole for use in place of the supplied pole. It was a 16" x 5/16" tube in which the tip of one's trekking pole simply went in one end, and the other side was capped to prevent puncturing the tent floor. Simple!

29 Mar 2011 - Tues - Day 15: Made it to the Hike Inn in Fontana Dam, NC (11.4miles). 55degrees clear and sunny. The Inn is a great place to stay. The people are nice and the rooms are great. Have to go to town to get waterproof spray for all of my gear. It is supposed to rain when I leave in the morning.
