  1. planing a journey

    i am not a stranger to the trail 2012/2013 i hiked GA parts of NC then VA in the first week of April 2017 i will leave from GA to the trail and go as far as my feet will carry me then i hope to be a thru hiker i know it is not an easy task .but it is one i dreamed of for a very long time.and i will give it my all.till then happy trail my trail brothers and sisters

  2. Water availability in GA - Aug/Sep

    Gooch Mtn. Shelter is 15.8.
    Lance Creek is 24.3.

  4. Week three continued.

    Aug 18- up and out by 7. Lady from yesterday said she wanted to hike a bit with me but she never caught up to me all day. I managed the mornings water crossing semi-gracefully and then came to a rock climb I couldn't manage. I had to take off my pack and heft it up over my head onto the ledge then haul myself up and put the pack back on without falling over the edge. Once that little bit of excitement was over I basically just trudged through the day. It was partly cloudy with a nice breeze. Great ...

  5. Maine... Week three

    August 13- sabbath morning I checked the weather and it looked like it would clear around noon. I packed up, checked out and moved my stuff the the porch in preparation for getting across the Kennebec. By 1:00 it was still raining and Paul checked his computer weather which showed a big front coming that would last until Monday. Well, poop and touch it (as Aunt Chele would say).
