    5/20 Wildcat camp area Ascended steep 6 mile hike to camp ground and water. High Tec Boots were too small and developed bad set of blisters! 5/21 Walnut Springs Shelter Hiked up 1500' to Max Patch which has 360 views and windy!     Monday May 21 Leave Chesterfield 3am 7.5 hours to Knoxville 3.25 hours to Deep Gap On the trail by 3pm Deep Gap to Carter Gap Shelter 8.3 miles Hiked up to Standing Indian Shelter through Beech Gap to Cater Gap which was nice Shelter with a common breezeway eating area.   4. Lewis Falls Loop Hike - Shenandoah National Park @ Big Meadows / Appalachian Trail


    Continuing our journey south on the Appalachian Trail through Shenandoah National Park, we hiked between Big Meadows Campground and Rock Spring Hut and also extended a little south on a loop of the AT that went to Lewis Falls.     Gumball is my 11yr old great-nephew who has recently joined our household. He was intrigued by the stories of hiking the AT with Snacktime and wanted to give it a try. We've had several local jaunts and he seems to legitimately enjoy spending time in the woods.
