    As a Texas girl dreaming daily of someday thru hiking the AT, I find myself in Washington DC just a couple of hours from an access point to the AT. URG! How I want to skip out on meetings and catch a ride to the AT and just hike a few miles just to ....I don't know get a foretaste that goes a baby step beyond just reading and reading and reading of other's adventures on the AT.

  2. Body adapting to activities.

    It’s taken a few weeks but my blood sugars seem to have adapted to this change in activity. At least diabetes and I have found a rhythm that is starting to work. It is so easy to want to NOT do anything to change your diabetic routine because it ALWAYS throws your blood sugar control off at first. Eventually though you will find a way to make it work but change is never easy with diabetes.
