May not be the best plan but I did set dates for the start/end of my hike and made reservations for my wife to pick me up between Aug 26 to Aug 29^th. She had to have time to put in for vacation. This will give me 161 days leaving March 18^th to hike 2200 miles; (13.7 a day with no zeros). From all I read even with 10 zero days this should be doable at 151 days at 14.6 miles. Worst case, I will be in New England August 26 by walking or other means; reservations are made.

This kind of stuff always blows me away. Here is my story from last weekend.

I was in Portland, OR this past weekend and I picked up a ULA Circuit backpack and a Sierra ​Designs bag. I’m happy with them both! However I left my rain jacket there in the store. I called them up and they had it still. Here is how the conversation went after the person on the phone with me found my jacket.

The plan thus far
Next year is the year I break out of suburban New Jersey life - at least for a little while. I have reached the point where I should reach beyond thinking about things, and start doing things. Part of that includes creating more of an online presence around this adventure. Now I will be able to point people at something when they want to know more about my walk, instead of telling them that I have more information coming soon or hoping they reach out to me for further details. ...
