Blue Lichen Head

Day Two - Monday

Left Black Mtn Shelter for Springer Mtn. We were slow because of the drizzle and wet ground. The path toward the Springer Mtn wass challenging but not like the Approach Trail at Amicalola Falls. The path upward was not strenuous but quite challenging.

As we arrived at the Springer Mtn peak, we saw the plaque saying the name of the Mtn and touched it. Made some pictures of us touching the plaque. Then we wrote our stories in the journal that was in the box inside the boulder. I thought it was neat. The box had a small door that you can open to get/put the journal. In the journal, we read the stories written by hikers over the period of time. Pretty interesting.
We were heading to our next stop - Hawk Mtn Shelter which was about 8 miles. Downthe Springer Mtn which was pretty steep but not too physcially challenged.
The view of tall hardwoods made it so picturesque, just as you saw a picture of trees standing so tall and shades of trees made it so refreshing. Not much sun through the woods at this moment.

Three Forks is a point where many hikers would stop for camping or resting because of a good water source nearby.
