first time hiker ct section

im going to be hiking the ct section of the at and i would like to kno what kind of gear i would need, were to resuply on food and water, are there maps i can buy that tell me this kind of stuff im just a new hiker and would like some extra info before i go off on my hike

    i too am hiking New England AT this year, i went to EMS and bought a full map set, it comes with all the maps with camps, side trails, scenic spots, all on the map and a trail guide book i find it to be really in depth, it was like $30 it's published by AT Conservancy (www.appalachaintril.org)
