This section is very dry. Reliable sources, like the Sunfish Pond runoff is dry. Mohican has running water (1/4 mile north of the AT on Camp Rd). Not sure about north of Blue Mtn Lakes Rd. We had a good rain today, not sure if that will change things on this section.
Thanks Carbo!
to be more specific I am looking for Waywanda to the Hudson.
Christy,
I should have paid closer attention to your Title line. Not sure where your located now, but the radar weather for that region is showing rain over most of that area... which doesn't guarantee it will do anything for the springs in the short run.
yep I am seeing that as well and hopefull it will be enough to pull through. I haven't hiked that area since 98' but I remember water being an issue!
Let me know when you'll be coming through and I can do a drop for you.
Drought conditions now exist in every state along the AT, severe to moderate in all states GA to ME border. Mother nature has a way of snaping back to the other extreme, the 2011 thrus may be in for a wet one.
The forecast for this week seems to indicate a real drenching is on the way for the entire east coast.
I don't know about Wildcat shelter. NY - You can get water from a pond a few miles south of Fingerboard. There is water in a brook up the mtn north of the Palisades Parkway.
heading through this weekend and with the rain today and tomorrow I think we should be good to go :) thanks everyone!!
