Planning my hike for March 1st, and flying in the end of February, any recommendations on getting to Springer from Atlanta without a rental car?

Since March 1st is one the most popular days to start, book your shuttle well in advance and be sure to cancel if plans change. Chances are you'll be part of a group to be picked up at the metro station outside of town.
The Atlanta airport has a train to the North. Documented in the guides (as noted above). That way you have train transportation to far north Atlanta for the shuttle you choose to pick you up. Best to call a shuttle service or three and see their rates and options for pick up. They can also have stove fuel for you or options to drop you at Walmart or REI for last minute stuff.

Currently WAA-Adventures provides Appalachian trail shuttle service from the Atlanta Airport to Springer Mountain. Currently the shuttle departs in the afternoon around 1530-1600 hours, Monday-Friday. Shuttle stops can be made at the following: Cabela’s Outfitters, and a grocery store at either Kroger or Publix can be made if needed.

One (1) to two (2) Person(s) - $100
Three (3) to four (4) persons - $150

I did a quick UBER search and the current rate from ATL to Amicalola park is around $127. The issue would be if any of the drivers are willing to take the trip.
