Brush with greatness -- 09 USATF Trail Champion

My brush with greatness -- I personally know the 2009 USA National Trail Marathon womens champion Lauran Arnold. :banana I've known her since she was a little kid -- she and her sister went to the same elementary and high school as my daughter.

Lauran is an incredible athlete. Last year she competed the Black Mountain ultra and placed second. She placed in the top group in the Rio, Brazil marathon, the Toronto, and the Detroit.

The article says she missed a turn, ran an extra mile, and still came in 8 minutes ahead of the second place finisher. A 3:08 trail marathon with an extra mile thrown in. Now that's incredible. She's unbelievably fast, unbelievably tough, and one of the nicest, most modest people you'd ever want to know -- a most worthy 2009 national champion.
