I had everything lined up to hike Stecoah Gap to Davenport Gap including a shuttle from Newfound Gap into Gatlinburg. Yesterday A Walk in the Woods shuttle cancelled on me. I'm looking for a pick-up at Newfound Gap at noon on the 10th to Gatlinburg and return the morning of the 12th to Newfound Gap. Does anyone know of shuttles that are running? Thanks for your help!
We did a little weekend loop hike that included a few miles of the AT in the Smokies. We met a group of 4 thru-hikers. They are traveling with two cars, using them for resupply trips, and also in lieu of a motel. Not sure how many more are out there, or what difficulties they're having.
If - and that's quite an if... If you tried to hitchhike, you might be successful. Not too sure I would count on it, though.

pre-virus this was an easy hitch.....
probably harder now....
The other shuttle service I've used in the area (pre-virus) is AAA-Hiker Service.
However, I placed a call to them just before the park re-opened to inquire if they were doing shuttles and I never heard back.
