Tennessee AT License Plate Volunteers

Our team is still working hard to make the AT plate in Tennessee a reality. Even with the economic conditions, we are at around 350 plates pre-sold. We need to get to 1000 for it to go into production. We will be receiving an extension to acquire the 1000 paid applications into 2010.

Right now, our team is need of volunteers to help get the word out. We really need more people in Nashville, Chattanooga, middle Tennessee and west Tennessee. Those people would make trips to outfitters and other hiking related locales to drum up support and distribute materials.

Our group meets via conference call once every two weeks. This is a great way to do work for the Trail if you don't live close to it and cannot do trail maintenance. These hours count towards volunteer time with the ATC.
