where would you want to end?
Assuming of course you'd be flip-flopping or jumping around on different segments.
Forget the logistics of the choice-- where would you want to culminate your AT hike?

Harriman State Park, where I began my backpacking career, and have many fond memories.
Harper's Ferry, from the North. C&O into town is a nice finish I think.
at Dot's in Damascus
Lone Wolf's House.
Harpers Ferry
I like the choice of "where I began my hiking career," so for me that would be Moosilauke. Awkward place to arrange a flip-flop though.
Amicalola Falls SP.
Dots in Damascus is another good choice.
Anywhere. Just completing the journey is a great feeling.
The Doyle in midsummer. You'd have a DOOZY of a celebration, and lots of appreciative people around to celebrate with.
Max Patch in the south. Or for a more northern option, Stratton Mountain. Then take the chairlift down to the village for beer.:clap
The first icecream store, after coming off Katadiyn, where ever it be at the time.
Mt. Jefferson. I always felt like it was an underrated mountain, and tis named after my idol and the greatest president we've ever had!
I'd also probably give the finger to Mt. Adams on the top ;)
If we could reroute the AT over to Mt. LeConte in the Smokies - that'd be my spot. : )
LeConte is actually my planned finishing point. Did AT from Newfound Gap to the Boulevard Trail with my wife 19 years ago. Stayed in the 3 sided shelter then, but hope to upgrade to the cabins the next time I am there. We still have the sunrise photos from Myrtle Point hanging on our wall.
