I'm in between sizes and went with the smaller one. Normally I don't put my hands in my pocket with my pack on since I use trekking poles and most trips no hip belt.

My hip belt crosses the top of the pocket, covering about 1/3 of the opening. If needed I can still get my hands in the pocket by pulling down on the sweatshirt a inch or so.

If someone does not want a pocket there is no real reason to try to get a melly. That is what separates it from the others.

It doesn't have a pocket. The pocket is one of the main reason people want a Melly.

I'll be back at the end of Aug. Last person I talk to that was in the store said it was rather empty, only 3-4 microgrid hoodies, all XL.

Alltrails phone app has a map of the trail. I don't know how good it is since I haven't had a chance to hike the trail yet. Trying to sneak it in this year.

I'm still interested if the dates stay about the same. Got Sturgis at the beginning of Aug, work the 16-18 and then go to seven peaks music festival on Aug 31. Planning a few practice hikes in July.

I think WY and CO will keep me busy with hikes for a few years.

Washington is another of the trips I want to do in Aug. Cherry harvest.

Another 2 months of winter and I'll be able to try some gear out.

I spent some time at East Tensleep last year with my atv doing some fishing. Some short hikes in the area made me want to hike more. Upgraded all my gear and planning to do longer trips this year....
