& thank you Hover-Job! -Sourpatch
Hiked with him for about 300 miles going south, he is a good dude. The original poster is his GF & they are currently having troubles. Sucks to see fellow thru-hikers be ridiculed because of...
Started June 21st with a naked picture on Katahdin for hike-naked day (and Summer solstice). Currently in Gorham, New Hampshire taking a zero after one of our dogs bit a porcupine. Life is good!...
Cooper Brook Lean to in Maine. Caught about 6 brown trout, good size.
Have spoken with her. Thanks guys.
Wish I would have replied on this sooner! Starting June 21st with 2 dogs, Düma and Dakota. Both are hiking machines & run right by your side even after the 16th mile of hardcore mountain biking....
Have 2 BIG friendly dogs that need a place to stay for one day/night while Katahdin is climbed. We will be headed SOBO from Baxter State Park around June 21st and will need to drop dogs off near Abol...
I have been planning to hike the AT for about 2 years now, slowly planning out everything I need, & gathering gear at REI garage sales, and gear swaps, working every job I can to save up the measly...
Name: Austin

Hike your own hike mate.
Some people forget what its like to be young like us (; Keep your thinking positive, your mind clear, and your feet dry. You will love the experience regardless of what...
Fennel seed and Spanish paprika add some interesting flavors, but nothing beats garlic, cumin, or cayenne pepper. Salt/pepper of course too.
I use Salomon XA 3D Ultra 2 Trailrunners. I love them, but are priced high comparative to New Balance.
Thanks for the offer Seabird! But I am going with another person & 2 dogs, so that would be some tricky maneuvering (looking more for people to tag along.) Plus, I don't graduate til the 10th.
If you are looking into buying a hammock, let me recommend the Blackbird Hammock by Warbonnet. http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/blackbirds.php
I do a bit of hammock camping, and will be doing that on the AT this year. I do not recommend slap straps. https://hammockforums.net/ is a great place to start. Also, http://www.whoopieslings.com/
I am hiking SOBO this mid-June, anyone driving up to Maine from the North Carolina area? It would be good to carpool.
REI is over-priced a lot of times imo. Craigslist is a good resource. If you're interested in hammocks for under $100, ENOs have a line of hammocks that are about $70, and nylon rope and clips are...
That's awesome! You can definitely count on me and my friend coming AND donating. 2 name cards, one for "Dylan" and one for "Austin". Thanks Sly!
I will be coming with one of my friends. Do people usually use trail names or real names for name cards?
This is what the website says: If anyone wishes to rough it, there is a shelter 0.8 miles...
Use pita bread as your base and then it is simply whatever you want to put on the pizza; warmed by a rock oven built around a fire (:
Thanks. Should have checked amazon before-hand :P
Too many times before I have seen people empty full packets of oatmeal into their mouth and swish it down with some water, or just eat ramen noodles raw.
Even though this way is light and cheap,...
Have hiked Linville Gorge a couple times going through the two towers and up to Grandfather Mt., but was wondering if anyone has hiked the whole gorge this time of year? I know Linville has about 40...
Will be 18 on Wednesday. Thanks for the support. A few "bad eggs" never stopped me before.
