I didn't do the approach trail but never missed a foot of the rest of the trail! Do what ever you want, there is no right answer!

I started April 8th. I think i reached Damascus on May 13th.

I met them in Penn. and hiked with them off and on until I had to go to my sons wedding when i was near Great Barrington. I was off for 5 days and never saw them again.
