Terrorism? Alone? In the woods? At 10:30? In 18" of snow?
That's not how terrorism works.
Is it possible that he was hiking with firecrackers? Do people do that?
You would be disappointed
Well, I got Kahtoola Microspikes for X-mas, so I'm pretty sure I put the jinx on any real snowstorms for this year. They are still in mint condition. My money is on a bust around here due to above...
I would rather read an article about the babies conceived on the AT.
I think I recently saw a headline saying firearm sales are down.
I think the problem here is that too many people want to rescue stray cats and dogs. I like the idea of having a shelter cat though.
I have a pair of xero shoes, but not the model pictured. They are my go to summer shoe and I have worn them as a camp shoe. I have not tried to run in them or hike in them. As mentioned above, I do...
Stakes and poles go in the pole bag. Tent body and fly are stuffed into my pack.
So, it sounds like what you are saying is that this new policy will have close to zero affect on the number of people able to climb the mountain in any given year. Am I reading that correctly?

Looks like a beautiful sunny day for hiking. :sun
My large/tall First Ascent 1/4 zip is 10.2oz and my large Marmot Zeus puffy is 16oz. Both are pretty warm. I could see carrying the MH puffy if I had one that light. The Zeus would be too warm in...
I would bring a 1/4 zip fleece, a fleece hat, and use my rain coat for wind protection. I don't carry my puffy unless the temperature is going to be below freezing. It sort of depends on how much...
So when do most of the bugs go away for the year? September?
You will grow to hate those Clif bars. Trust me, I used to love them too and I've met other hikers that felt the same way.
This is brilliant!
I use Target bags as stuff sacks for my clothes, sleeping bag, and food.
