I used the SteriPen Adventurer on my thru hike back in '08. I loved it!!! Had no problems with it whatsoever and it lasted the whole trip. The only downside....batteries are expensive.

i know when i was over in iraq, i couldn't get enough hot sauce. just like on the trail, hot sauce goes good with anything. nothing beats a box with several selections of hot sauce.

not sure yet. i do know that Chewbacca was a soldier in the Israeli army before his thru hike but don't know about afterwards.

Apparently, word is going around on fb that a 2008 thru-hiker was killed in Israel recently. His name was Danny Farahan a.k.a. 'Chewbacca'. Chewbacca was a cool dude and an inspiration on the trail....
