I think you need to hike the AT, so you loose that part of you.
I found this happening to me when I hit 50 or so. To alleviate it some while on the trails I would stretch my arms over my head and make a fist and then release back to an open palm. I repeat...
While we don't read much about Bear attacks on the AT, and we don't have Grizzlies, here's an interesting article on a method this man used to stop a bear attack. Not sure if I could follow...
Is anyone else surprised that it was only $9,186.38. As I got to that point in the pdf, I was thinking it would be $25,000.00+ easy.
I posted earlier that I'd be going this year, but there seems as though it's a slim chance. Due to circumstances beyond my control. :(.
Late April, May at best, and that would be a miracle... ...
Thanks for the bit of feedback. I've been walking around for a few weeks now on and off with a lighter pack, (15lb max), but that weight didn't have the same effect as the 30lb did. I wish I could...
It seems walking around my house for an hour wearing my 4 day supply 31 lb backpack has awakened some muscles I haven't heard from in a while.
There is work to be done before April besides...

Decent Read. Nice to know there's not much to check up on until color changes as in the Fall...
Red or Yellow, Check out the Fellow.... :)
If and when I start this adventure in the spring I'll be solo also. Plenty of people to meet along the way to Katahdin.
Congratulations.
Probable everywhere, and hang it correctly... Here's a tidbit from a hiker I've been following... Skip to 11:00 for the bear part.

No matter the container, a tip to not have leaks would be to create a bit of negative pressure in the bottle by squeezing out some air before tightening down. No one needs to create have the heat of...
Hmmm... I don't feel ahead of anyone... lol... Hiking a trail here is like walking in a shopping mall. Pretty much flat, with maybe 300 ft. elevation change over the 4 miles...
I'll be going with a Nikon Coolpics aw120. Photos, Video, etc. Can still use a ton of mounts, etc. and it's already waterproof without the need of extras. Great sound quality too. While the...
Lets see... I pulled out every piece of gear I own, created lists, etc. Sitting at a 26+ lb base. So there is work to do here. Since most of this gear is over 15 years old, (not worthy of a...
