Thanks for the suggestions, and yes, I'm talking about Pennyslvania's trail.

Can I send a fuel canister in a mail drop? I've never tried that--just assumed it wasn't allowed.
  2. What fuels will be easily available on the Mid State Trail?

I'm buying a new stove for my MST hike, but I'm concerned that I'll get out there and not be able to find fuel. What would be my best bet?

The Pinhoti Trail goes pretty close to Mount Cheaha, Alabama's high point at
2,413 feet. When they ask me, I'll tell them the trail should be re-routed to go over the summit.

Is there a list of designated trail towns on the GET? I think Chattanooga's one, and Elkhorn City. Maybe Cave Spring? Any others?

I'm looking for someone who can shuttle two people either the morning of the 19th or late afternoon of the 22nd. We'll be hiking the northernmost Alabama section of the trail.

I'm probably misreading something here, but if you're doing what I call the "Georgia Loop," won't you walk right through Mountain Crossings? I'm confused as to why you'd need the 5-mile detour.

I don't think it would allow you to avoid shelters entirely, but you could legally avoid a couple by staying at the official campsites on or near the AT that don't have shelters. As an added bonus,...

Are you flying or driving? It's helpful to know whether you'd need the trailhead to be reasonably close to an airport.
