The Pinhoti Outdoor Center can help you with all your planning questions. The trail has a strong community and there are usually water caches in the dry months. The Pinhoti Trail Alliance has a FB...
Winter is the best time to hike on the Pinhoti Trail in AL/GA. More views, more water, less bugs and snakes.

I realized that the article focused on AL after I had typed my reply. I'm glad they're putting money, time and effort in to the trail. It's beautiful and there is growing support in AL in towns near...

I just got an SLD Trail Lair! Spent the last 7 years in a modified ENO singlenest. I'm looking forward to trying out my new Hammock at a group Hang in 2 weeks at the Sipsey Wilderness in Alabama.
I got it....and laughed out loud.
Option A in the Sipsey sounds fabulous. It'll give you time to play with gear, talk about pack weight, etc. The longer option can get rough with blow downs or adverse weather. There is always stuff...
Thanks, HooKooDooKu!

thanks,

I guess I could have realized back then that I could stay here and hike 58% of my time, like career adventurers do, too, but Norway looks really awesome on Google maps, and either way, I was too busy...
I want to move to Norway and hike 58% of my time. Why didn't I realize that could be my dream when I was 21 instead of waiting until I was 51?
