i've hiked a lot of the 1st 500 miles of the AT at a couple times and some of it much more than that. GA is a section I do not care to repeat. I never get tired of the Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers...

Been there, done that, and am right back there now. It's painful. Stretches, massaging, ice, etc. are all very good and what I do as well.

Pisgah National forest is full of them and right at the 'back door' to Waynesville.

I almost always hike in a skirt. I switch between a Prana and Columbia. Both are very flexible and dry quickly. They are just above the knee.

do not know what made me think the 3rd time would make this section any less painful because it wasn't . Good thing about this section is the water sources are flowing well right now. The bad thing...

the alcohol stove rings burnt into the floor don't attract animals. People eating and dropping food, hanging those nice food odored bags, and the nice food scented clothing you wear, attract animals.

I have the Caldera for the snow peak 700. I've used it for 2yrs(around 600 miles worth). Great system. If I were going to purchase another one for just solo trips, it would be the keg system.

same thing with mine before last weeks trip. We asked Chris if it would definitely be here by Thursday, it was here on Wednesday. Ooo...I lOVE the pack!! Worked great!
