Can't edit... and yes the reason why top stoves don't have that pre-heat tube is because it does not make sense given you can't get a liquid feed out of the upright canister.

You may want to try immersing those tips in boiling water just in case some glue was used and that might soften it up.

Do take a good look at the options available with the ULA Circuit , sort of 60l , good for me up to around 30LBS, or the Catalyst if you need something a bit larger that can carry (comfortably)...
