sounds good but not ideal for someone that wants to also use them to prop a tent up.
For that it is much better to have adjustable poles so that you can get the right tension for the situation. ...
Sorry for the interruption but I spotted this comment :
"I found it a pain to set up as no matter how I did it it never set up exactly where I wanted it so the orientation was always wrong and it...
I just noticed that the last one to post in the tarp users sub forum was me , about 10 months ago.
and just for fun, for those that insist tarps are faster and easier, for some it is so , yet I still have to see anyone fully setting up a tarp in less time than I have with some of the tents I use....
BTW, nsherry61, you have been around here for a long time so you would remember that for a few years every tent thread was peppered with the "get a hammock" comments.
Now, given that some of those...

not beating about the bush, what I get from your comment is that most hikers are ill informed and or snowflakes.
Hard to believe that this has been going on for thousands of years...
and I am surprised that you still don't understand otheres may have different requirements, wants, needs, likes from you . I can't think of many tarps being used over the treeline, or where it's sandy...
Can't edit... and yes the reason why top stoves don't have that pre-heat tube is because it does not make sense given you can't get a liquid feed out of the upright canister.
BTW, by similar I meant that Coleman had very compact top of canister stove with pre-heat tube. Most stove of this tuype that have a pre -heat tube are of the remote type.
The Coleman was of the...
Coleman had something similar over 10 years ago , however I am pretty confident in saying that the one in your photo is nether Coleman nor Primus because the gas canisted next to it would be of the...
That should narrow the search.
The Black Tenacious tape has worked for me (down jacket) but not the clear version. For some reason that did not stick well (down vest).
Maybe it was the vest material, anyone else has had the...
OK, so it does not look like a faulty batch or poor cord used by one manufacturer but something more common to several brands.
Maybe I should have not asked such a difficult or controversial question. I am not sure why but who knows ?
In case it is still not clear, I am just curious to know.
All of the top brands use poles made by either Easton, DAC or Yunan .
The poles are branded , some tent brands change from one supplier...
My question was related to this line : I had the shock cord go slack in both my tents, an Exped and a MSR.
Both brands have sold tents with DAC aluminium poles but use other brands too . I...
Did those two tents have DAC poles ?
You may want to try immersing those tips in boiling water just in case some glue was used and that might soften it up.
Do take a good look at the options available with the ULA Circuit , sort of 60l , good for me up to around 30LBS, or the Catalyst if you need something a bit larger that can carry (comfortably)...
If you do go ahead using your washing machine, I suggest you run one cycle without any detergent first because most often there is some residue in the tub.
And do make sure you are using soap not...
The floor width on the SS Li has to do with the width of the DCF rolls. However the factory in China has a way of bonding the fabric so this limit has been overcome in the DR Li version. ( 50" wide)
Out of curiosity I had a look at Queen Margherita's eyes.
I found two paintings with some good details, this one in particular does show she had blue eyes (very similar to the colour of her dress)...
The war surplus paint sounds the more likely to me...

I know that many DRs have been sold to solo hikers but the Rainbow is larger than many solo tents.
The 88"x40" floor is fully usable , you can put two std 20" mats on it and the footprint is a bit...
