Great trip report! I drove Skyline Drive over the weekend and it was quite different from my experience in the summer.

I met Sam when I was sectioning and his videos are enjoyable. But they are insanely long! I find myself skipping around because I don't have 25 minutes for a trail video.

Looks like Orange Crush has an ankle sprain and is resting in Etna, CA. He intends to be back on the trail but will be taking it slow.

Great article. I didn't know there was a debate on whether you should restrict the flow of venom. I feel I am inclined to follow the advice in the article. But well be sure to avoid bites first.

Orange Crush responded to my inquiry on his blog. He is not attempting a TC this year but will likely do the CDT in a few years from now.

Reading Orange Crush's blog leads me to believe that he is not doing a TC. Though I may just ask him outright in a comment. He is generally pretty responsive when he has connection.
