"bunbun", damn Jim where did you pick up that handle from?
Anyway, for what it's worth, arguing over which of the long trails is hardest is like arguing over thru-hiker purity. We maybe using the...
Kerosene,
We do have a new optional vestibule for the Europa II. Since it is not sewn to the tent, it can be used as the need arises. It sales for $30 and weights in at 4.5 oz.
The website is...
Ok, I'm breaking my promise, I'm headed to Traildays in a couple of days so I won't be responding any further.
Mountain Dew, you are absolutely correct that it will cheapen the thru-hike. If...
Ok, this will be my last comment on this matter. As it is, I’ve spent way too much time on this subject. My apologies to the general readership.
To Mountain Dew,
Let me say that if the ATC...
Actually that's pretty simple. Baseball is a competition that’s constantly watched by referees to ensure fair play. In baseball comparisons between players ability is fair.
Thru-hiking isn’t a...
Given the amount of verbiage on this topic, clearly some people have too much free time on their hands. Exactly why I’m adding my additional two cents to this topic is also beyond me. I do believe...
The problem is that people automatically assume that people who Blueblaze are cheating. Therefore their hike is somehow inferior (i.e. the purist is superior). To me it sounds like a lot of nonsense...
Warren >> Boats available at the Caratunk crossing for many pre-1986 AT hikers? I guess this is yet another example of an interpretation (statement of a fact) of one who was not there during this...
That's a good point to consider, especially concerning single walled tents, small tarps or tarp/tents. You need keep enough volume of space around you to minimize potential contact with condensation...
illininagel,
You won't have any problem fitting in the Europa II. With a floor that's 90" or 7' 6" feet long, you will have over a foot of room to spare. The tent is 60" wide at the front and 54"...
I'd agree with the straight stitch. The number of lines of stitches will depend upon your type of seam.
Spend another $15 and get a book on sewing outdoor projects and at the different seam...
Moose, just in case you're not aware of it, the Europa II has a 7 1/2" floor length designed to accommodate tall people. Six Moon Designs.

The relationship of weight of the backpack vs. days out, is by no means a linear one (ie. Heavier weight backpack = more days out). And here we’re referring specifically to the weight of the pack...
As far as we know, Brian Robinson is the only single year Triple Crowner. It's highly unlikely that anyone else would have hiked all three trails in a single year and no one knowing about it. Not...
>> I've thought about maybe just going with the Z-Rest, and making an exterior pocket for it between my back and the pack. (Alice medium, no frame) I also figured I could add pockets on the bottom...

The Kenyon sealer is designed for use on Polyurethane coated fabrics. The Kenyon sealer will just peal off when dry.
Silicone coated fabrics require a silcone based sealer to work....
I couldn't tell from your post what the shell material was for your down blanket. However, from the description it sounded like 1.1 rip-stop nylon.
I also suspect it didn't have a DWR finish on...
I've been a bit busy revamping the website and getting ready to start manufacturing the tent. So have not been able to respond.
As to the DriGlide fabric that someone mentioned. Actually Peter's...
The
Great Divide Trail has it's own website where you can find everything you need.

>> I couldn't figure out if the moonlite has load lifters...
No this version of the Moonlite pack doesn't have load lifters. The top of the pack comes up to shoulder level. Unless you're filling...
We might be able to work something out. The production packs should start arriving mid month. You can email me at the address on the website.
>> I don't use a tarp or foam pad to use as the "wrap" for my gear. It also weighs 2lbs with the rain cover, which is at the high end of what I'm hoping for (2lbs or less). I'm also one to constantly...
The Europa II is the newer version and is significantly larger and more suited to two people. It is designed with significant ventilation. 75 percent of the inner walls is covered by mesh.
It is...
