Im doing almost the exact same thing. I going to start my first section first of June and go to Damascus , which is roughly 466.9 miles. I hope do this all in a month or atleast be done by July 4th...
Man just Pm'ed you but just now saw your not going till '14. If I dont go this year I will definitely be down.
Beginning of June basically all month maybe a month and a week
thats what i seem to come across on almost every site review of the bag. They say the temp rating is off, but a 30 degree bag is still good enough for a thru hike? right?
Thanks for the insight. I usually test out most things I buy and would for sure test out the sleeping bag before buying. If it is slim in the shoulder area this may be a problem due to my bigger build
Surprisingly It can fit everything. This does include though strapping tent/z rest to the outside, my current sleeping bag is not down so it takes up a ton of space which is a problem but it still...
How small does the Cosmic 20 pack down to?

I'm class of 15 and thinking of possibly doing the beggining in GA to VA boarder. Did you go to school in NC? I am from High Point
Just liked your page. Nice to see a fellow NCarolinan
Thanks for all the replies. All seem to indicate extreme muscle loss. Guess I will have to deal with it and gain it back after the hike.
Thanks for all the replies. Ill be sure to read up some more on this forum.
I am a current student at Penn State Abington which is outside Philadelphia but will be moving to state college next year. I was wondering if anyone knew of some good backpacking trials near school I...
Man. I love hiking but love my muscle too. I have been thinking of bringing protein powder and other high protein foods to help cut down on it?
How muscle did you guys lose in your upper body after a thru hike. I have worked very hard building muscle for the past year and a half and wanted to plan a thru hike when I graduate school in two...
