atweather.org doesn't seem to load in Chrome on my Android phone, it just goes to some developer notice on pythonanywhere.com. Anyone else having that problem?

Yeah, the side cord isn't stretchy, just really long. The mesh pocket is really elastic, though.
Don't worry, I'm using that space very well. I wouldn't want to put the tent in that pocket, though, since it has the small end supports that I can't remove. Rather have them on the side to avoid...
Yeah, I've got plenty of slack in that to work, I'm just concerned about damaging something since I'd also be using those straps to compress the pack. But it sounds like I've lived up to my name yet...
I'll be bring my Ohm 2.0 and Moment DW TarpTent along with me on my thru this year. If you've used the Moment, you'll know that it doesn't cram into a weird soft lump - there are small poles that...
Boots boots boots
Is there a ebook version of the Companion?
I've been hammock camping for most of the summer, but I just bought a Moment DW TarpTent for my thru for three main reasons.
1) Hammocks = fiddle factor. You spend a lot of time adjusting,...
What about for $75 shipped? Any takers there?
And yet another for the IMUSA pots. I use a 12 to cook in and a 10 with the handle removed for a cup. Both have reflectix cozies - the 10 in the cozy fits perfectly inside of the 12 with no room to...
Just wanted to share some appreciation for some cottage vendors who I've had great experiences with recently.
First up is Henry Shires of TartTent fame. Ordered a Moment DW from him on a Saturday...
Snowed a foot in Maine this weekend, I bet someone could use some newer boots for the winter!
I'm looking at picking up either a Notch, Moment DW or maybe even a Stratospire 1. Anyone in the DC area have one of those models they'd let me set up and futz around with for a few minutes?
If we're going to open this thread back up, I'll come brag about my set up :D :
- 11' Dream Hammock Thunderbird in 1.6 Argon fabric
- 12' Hammock Gear cuben tarp with doors
- 20* Hammock Gear...
When I was shopping for a park this year, it came down to the Jam and the ULA Ohm. Somehow, the Ohm managed to weigh in very close to the Jam, and yet it has an actual frame. If you remove the 5...
Bump again
Gawl, 18 minutes for one burn. Might just finally have to swap the MBD Elite for something else.
Good God I love my CF tarp.
- half the weight of my sil tarp, with more coverage
- doesn't stretch (big problem in the wind with sil)
- doesn't soak up water
- easier to field repair than sil,...
Did it run for 18 minutes altogether, or did it run for 18 minutes after that first 6 minutes of boil time on the same 1 ounce of fuel?
I use the REI aluminum poles with the flip lock and cork grips. They're nice, but some observations:
- The straps constantly pull loose. I really lean into my straps to avoid having tired and sore...
Bump...I know someone around here needs some boots for the winter.
Always hard to find your size in things on that site, but sometimes you get lucky. Just picked up some Montrails for $30!
If you want to look but don't have a log in, send me a PM before you...
My budget plan:
1) Save a crap ton of money
2) Exercise restraint - I'm generally a champ here anyway, which is how #1 is possible
That's it. I know I won't be able to stick to any defined...
So many options. I always recommend going longer and wider than the ENO - should measure out to 9.5 feet. I've got an 11 footer from Dream Hammock which is awesome.
Also, don't discount the DIY...
Bump, and price dropped to $100.
