How's "dat" toe? ;)
I eat a lot of those Mountain House meals (breakfast and dinner) when I'm staying at my cabin in Alaska.
They're not bad for what they are, but I do find that I'm getting tired of them after...
It worked well enough to charge my cell phone and iPod...after long hours in the sun during those long Alaskan days.
I don't know how practical it would be for backpacking, unless a way was...
I bought one at REI to keep my cell phone and iPod charged when I'm in Alaska...in the Summer, when the days are really long. It's a "Solio Classic Solar Charger with LED Light", about the size of a...
I've seen it a few times, when I've been to Hawaii. Only once was it the elusive emerald green variety; the other times it was more of a chartreuse blip. I'd love to see the emerald green type again,...

I wear 'em all the time; that's where I get mine nowadays.
I'm planning to do about 40 miles on the A.T. in MA starting on Labor Day. :)

I had some cherry pie before the day was over. :banana
You're always welcome to camp at my place...on the Big Island. There's a pretty significant lava tube (cave) system under that. No caves at the Alaska cabin, but you are welcome to stay there too......
Nothing gets by this one... ;)
What demise?
Nowadays they bus tables, drywall, do landscaping, pick fruit, etc., ad infinitum.
Maybe there'll be some Public Affection displayed there.
I am guessing that there will be... ;)
(It's a somewhat educated guess)
I'm planning to attend.
I guess I'd better reserve a room at The Doyle... :-?
Well, since your location is currently showing as South Korea, I figured that Hawaii was closer to there than those other places that you mentioned...
Sometime between January 1st and 7th I'm planning to hike on the Muliwai Trail on the Big Island.
(The week before that I'll be hiking the Kalalau Trail on Kauai)
You're welcome to join me; I'll...
No thanks; you like hiking in the cold...so, screw that!!!
Next month I'm planning to hike the Kalalau Trail again... :banana
I've gotten marlin jerky in Hawaii a couple of times; good stuff.
Gallery Message The WhiteBlaze Gallery will be going down very shortly.
We will be troubleshooting some Gallery issues.
Pretty much.
Fortunately, the weather was perfect when I left the summit of Katahdin via the Knife Edge...but you're right, sometimes going that way is inadvisable. :-?
