I can not speak for TNF tents, but the only negative I have heard on the Spitfire UL is the foot area. The regular Spitfire (which I have) has the second pole at the foot that keeps the tent farther...

My first tent was a $10 pup tent from k-mart. It looked something like this. I spent many dry nights on the trail and slowly moved to different gear, but I will always fondly remember that tent. ...
I use the vestibule to protect me and put the stove just outside the tent (assuming I am not camped in a hurricane) just to be on the safe side.

I have only slept in a 4 season tent once - it was February in N Georgia, no snow and I absolutely baked at night. I had issues with the ventalation and never really got it right. It was a NF, but...

These were on steepandcheep.com for about $65 a while back - I tried to jump on it, but while I was checking out they ran out and I lost. This is definitely on my Christmas list though.
I forgot to quit my job... No kidding - they knew I was leaving, even had a goodbye party for me. When I got back, they said I forgot to fill out the forms to quit. Worked out well for me though -...
I tried the torso pad and found it to be just too small. I did not find it added padding (I still felt every rock and pebble). I have returned to my trusty Therm-a-rest that I've had for years.

I said 15+ years - but I'm not 100% sure on the age. It might have been a graduation gift in 1990, but again not 100% sure. I have a therma-rest ultralight 3/4 pad that is the first pad they made...
