IMO the winter is the best time to hike on the AT. the cold does suck but it makes it way more of an adventure and theres noooooo bugs which is definitly a plus. ~GB

3- 16.9 fl oz and a nalgene usually leaves me about satisfied for the night and usually into the hike the next day and sometimes I have some more water in my platypus if not i just have a dry throat...
