Hi
AT thru-hiker and my son are attending trail days and need a ride back to Waynesboro on Sunday. We have a ride there but not return.
Any by assistance appreciated and will share gas money. ...
Great way to encourage an 18 year old to become a life long hiker and member of the AT community! Maybe some people could learn from Badger and his wiliness to help introduce those young people into...
Happy to assist. Start end of February time.

Great video Frost + Sunshine and glad to back someone making a positive educational film for all people to get to experience the AT journey, especially those unable to reach their dream. Great job!
Great spreadsheet and info. Did you use a wordpress plugin for the table?
Nice cel blog and congrats on the thru-hike!
I will filter when I can and use bandana and Aqua Mira when I cannot (not my preference as I dislike the taste). You don't necessarily need to stick to one method. As you said 10 liters to filter a...
Need=no but it does save the inside of your bag! can be washed easy in towns/hostels etc and can be used on its own on hot days. I use a Salt Designs cotton bag liner (I find silk smells quickly).
+1 you can these at walmart for $5
I enjoyed and would recommend Zach Davis "Appalachian Trials"
I am hoping to try get the national park stamps on the way. Worth asking!
Got mine. Will be a keepsake and as stated it supports the ATC.

I use them. In the summer I use deet on them and my boots to prevent ticks getting on me. Mine are gortex and had them years. I like them in snow, rain, dew covered fields, many uses actually!
Great post and thanks for the information! I was looking at Frog Togs but think I'll re-evaluate.
I see it is sponsored by a group of companies but wonder why the survey has no contact details associated with it. I've done a couple of these before and there was a "face" for the companies who...
I would consider having the dew claws removed. It's an easy procedure and they can be ripped off at any point on the AT and that would be an issue. Mushers I've used routine for hot desert days as...
There are several state parks around Austin http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/state-parks/
Would the GSMNP have the number of those filling in permits as thru-hikers?
I see a potential research study for someone ;)
I would be interested to see the start numbers and completion rates based on age brackets (20's, 30's, 40's etc.). I would guess the higher numbers starting are in the younger age ranges but would be...
Josh seehorn is currently completing the trail and has a great website http://outdoorjosh.com/ check out his video blogs
