I had a Z55 and really liked it. However, I found the shoulder straps and my shoulders weren't a good match. Nothing wrong with them, I just have very pronounced bones and needed more padding. I...

Put it in the internal memory to ID the camera, but also on every SD card to ID that, too. It can be a small resolution pic to save memory
Are you talking about adding a link in your signature?
I'd say after you get to Deep gap, take the easy walk down Kimsey Creek Trail to Standing Indian Campground or the backcountry parking area. real easy for a shuttler to get you there.
Not sure. PM him and ask.
Some modified penny stoves SD makes with aluminum screws for pot holders.
Saw him today at Cooper Gap.

I know, but I'm not telling. Hope you find the owner, dmax
With an 11 year old and both being new to hiking, start at FS 42, hike up to Springer and see where it starts. From there, take the BMT (6 miles) to Three Forks. Next day, hike back to the car...
You could leave your car at Amicalola, get shuttled to a trail head and hike back to the car. As for how far in 4 or 5 days, that would depend on how much you plan on/can hike in a day.
If your 0 bag would do you fine in a tent, it should work in the hammock. Just make sure you insulate well underneath you. Try it out in your yard one night, where if it fails you, it's easy to bail.
Merry Christmas, all
Don't know yet. I am the only one in my family that whose internal clock runs on hiker time. (In bed early, up early)
Bulldawg, if you turn off data services, I think that you loose the ability to text. With mine, I just change temporarily change the password on my e-mail account. It tries and fails.
Can't make it after all, Hikernutt. maybe next year.
Tough luck, dmax. hope you find it.
I'd say use the CCF pad. Regardless of the rating of a bag, you lose it on the bottom where it is compressed by your weight.
What kind of bag & pad do you have? There are some ways to lower temp ratings somewhat.
I was in that area this past weekend. The view from Tray Mountain confirmed thatteh leaves are just starting to change. Still a lot of green. Enjoy the hike.
I met a hiker climbing out of Dicks Creek, today. He said he left Katadin in May. Name was Lone Gun Five. The way he was headed up to Powell Mountain, he seemed to have his trail legs. He was moving...
Dang, that's just right up the road from my house in Waleska. Even if I can't make it for teh weekend, i should be able to drive up for the day and visit.
I'm going to have to think about this one. I need to meet some more folks from the area. What area of No. Georgia?
Most Excellant
I was out there this past Saturday, from Unicoi to Tray Gap. Water along the trail in both places was running slow, but running. Met a hiker who said the water at Tray Mountain Shelter was the same.
