You silly, the UV rays do damage well after you've tanned-you just don't get a sunburn! :P I know this because I have to wear sunblock very day regardless of where I am-both sides of the fam have had...
One thing I saw in another thread was that it's an excellent idea to keep Fido leashed when they're fresh on the trail anyway, because otherwise they run around like morons back and forth and wear...
They're using the Korelian Bear Dogs up in Alaska with the grizzlies-something about the bears drives those dogs wild, and something about the dogs drives the bears away! They also use firecrackers...
I second what Spirit Walker said-I can't wear napkins/pads even at home, as they rub me absolutely raw. Don't even discuss hiking with them with me!

One side note, I don't think anyone else mentioned cranberry! Either get some dried cranberries or get the cranberry pills, those help ward of UTIs at least. Dunno if you're looking to keep down...
...for the next year or so! :p
I'm in that "20 something" age range that all y'all keep griping about being so wonderfully physically capable... ;) Not so! When I went into the military I got an...
Greentick-hello from another Army medic, though not SF! One caveat to your snakebite advice: if you're solo, don't bother going after it-those things are freakin' FAST and all you'll do is spread the...
I'm a seperated Army medic, so my first aid kit is a bit more...er... "extensive" than the others listed here!!! (Partly because I can get my still-Active Duty medic husband to yoink some supplies...
