Was it your cousin or is there a published account of this fantastic tale?
For those of you too lazy to read the article but still looking to blame the victims behavior, the kid killed in...
If the urban North is so much better than the rural South, maybe y'all should stay up North. Would you go to Rome and complain about all the Italians?
I didn't plan on it, but it seems like I'm trying to at least do the entire TN/NC stretch this year. I'm about half way there. Might do Spivey to I-40 this weekend to enjoy some moonlight hiking and...
Being a ridgerunner in the park has to be an incredibly frustrating job. Promoting LNT on the AT in GSMNP is about like preaching abstinence to pregnant teenagers. Day late and a dollar short.
Last minute, but if anyone happens to be going NOBO and wants to leave a car at Spivey or Erwin and drive mine to I-40 or Davenport (or have me meet you and drive yours to Spivey) for this weekend,...

Get yourself an immersion foot syndrome and get back to us on this.
Find my breaking point, go 5 more miles, and eat 10k calories while I'm doing it?
Why didn't I discover speed hiking sooner?:-?
Did my first two 30+ mile days and first 40+ this month,...
Always nice to start the day with someone getting what they deserve for being stupid.
I was up there Monday and would guess the sustained wind were around 30mph with up to 70mph gusts. I could be overestimating, but I did think I might end up in Oz a few a times. There were some trees...
