Lol this is so true. I'm thru hiking in 2016 and everyone thinks I'm going in the woods alone for months on end. They tell me I need to bring a gun for food and protection. People just dont...

With this applachian trail movie coming out soon (labor day) how do you think this could possible effect the trail? Although it is a fabulous book, just hoping the authenticity of the trail stays...

I think you mean mt Washington because that is on the AT. Maybe you mixed up george Washington being on mt Rushmore and mt Washington haha

You should do a SOBO hike. It would be too much of an endeavor to get to Katadin by October coming from Georgia. Plus not as many people have taped SOBO thru hikes. Good luck.

I understand that there is more connections and magic hiking north, but hiking south for me is the only possible way to do it with the school system. But now I just dont know
