Here's a photo taken yesterday with the vestibule fully deployed (and pole set to 107cm but not including the apex guyline). It's a very strong pitch and, unlike your current shelter, wont flap...
Sorry that doesn't work for you. Here's another one showing the difference between a 120cm pole and a 110cm pole. Changing the pole height causes the Aeon Li to rotate, up or down, around the rear...
In looking a bit more at the specs and diagrams I can see that the SS2 is actually quite a bit roomier at ground/sleeping level. The Jack Rabbit SL 2 tapers inward (52" head -->42" foot) whereas the...
Looking at the specs for the Jack Rabbit SL 2, it certainly looks to me like the SS2 would feel quite a bit roomier. The SS2 has quite a bit more interior height and volume.
Your comments about "...
It is true that moving to nanoseeum mesh might save about 1.5 ounces but, yes, the solid fabric is more durable. It also provides a more effective condensation barrier--droplets cannot get...
If you're a trekking pole user, I would recommend the Notch over the Contrail for an AT thruhike. The double doors/double wall design offers much better performance and flexibility at the same...
Tarptent.com was down for a bit but should be back up and running now. We had a link pointing to some javascript code stored on an external content delivery website and when that site went down so...
It is an OPTIONAL interior. Yes, the mesh interior certainly offers better views and it's the standard interior for the Notch. The partial solid interior is better suited to cold, windy weather and...
Tuswm,
I looked at a photo of the DR you have in your gallery. It's obviously several years old--the prior model for sure--and not sure how much use you got out of it before the floor started...
Not that it's any consolation to your 2009 PCT thruhike but the Rainbow underwent a subsequent major revision and the bathtub floor is deeper/better tensioned now along with a host of over...
I ask both of you gentlemen to take this inanity elsewhere.
Agree to disagree and move on.
Thanks.

Yes, like the Scarp and Hogback, the StratoSpire has a full clip-in/clip-out interior. You can leave the interior attached for setup/takedown or install/detach it separately.
Not trying to convince you. Stick with what you like/works for you by all means. Just responding to points you raised.

Kia Kaha, I posted this diagram on another forum but I hope this helps explain the usable volume and floor space improvement. There is no other comparably poled shelter that does better in the same...
Proof of 2-minute (actually 1:52) setup time now posted. It's not a very interesting video and we'll do a proper one with audio and explanation of features/ multiple setups etc. later this Fall.

Yes, inclusive of stuffsacks and stakes. Steaks are too heavy and would spoil during shipping http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif
No cuben at least for 2011. I'm loathe to...
Nope. 40 ounces was it low as it ever got.

Jbrecon2,
The Moment sets up completely taut and there's reason why you should expect anything less for you. Call me (or send a phone number and I'll call you).

Chaco Taco, for future reference, it's just better to "go private" when dealing with a product issue. You avoid all of this public display and get right to the person that can actually fix the...
Send it back, we'll refund you.

Just now reading this. Chaco Taco sent me an email last night and I responded.
As for "he could have let me know", I do let people know about new product plans when they ask AND when I have...
Big Dawg,
I don't have a NeoAir to test so at this point I'm just educated guessing as to what will happen with the pad but, yes, the mesh and floor will give if you/your pad push outward on them....
This is NOT true for the Moment. The Moment has a completely protected interior compartment for drip-free rain entrance/exit as well as a generous vestibule with room for lots of gear.
