I'd recommend a single edge, no serrated blade that has a locking mechanism. My leatherman broke on the trail and many of the tools were completely unnecessary.
This sounds extremely selfish...
I give far more then I receive and I only give what people need, which is an appropriate time to gift something.
They closed it down, because the ownership was changing hands and they were moving to a larger facility. I don't think you can hold that against them as a company.
This dude speaks truth, the coffee shop next door was great, but the outfitter lacked the products and help to really be of assistance to THRU's.
I didn't use any gloves until in the north section and just used glove liners. They weigh nothing and still kept my hands warm.
My mom supported me huge during my thru hike this year and I'd love to get her a white blaze that's framed. Does anyone know where you can buy one of these? I'm in kinda a hurry:)
Thanks!
HYOY is true, but I'm just telling you that most of my friends from the 2009 Thrus, didn't like having one with them because it detached them from the wilderness. Just OUR opinion.
If you were...
I really recommend that you do not bring an MP3 player of any kind of the trail. I had one with me this year and regretted carrying it, because when I listened to it, time flew by and I didn't have a...
This man knows what he's talking about^. Exactly what I would have said.
I do not recommend sleeping without a sleeping pad with any weather under 50 degrees. The insulation in your bag compresses on the underside of it and therefore loses its insulating property. You...
Different brands for different people because the same people in china are making them all with very little differences between them...
I used mine for 800 miles this summer with no problems..
I loved that place, far better for the money then most hostels...
I'm certain people on WB have worked/work for the AMC. My question is, what do you think? I'm not interested in making a fortune, just enjoy what I'm doing and feel that I'm also getting something...
It's the work of Wild Bill!!!!!!!
Buy a 12 ounce gatorade from Dollar General and it's the perfect size and durability to withstand 2000+ miles. It also weighs very little.
I started April 19th and didn't need any of that stuff. I started with a WM 35* bag and finished with the same one on October 6th.
I love all your condescending posts referencing Americans. Why do you post on here if you think the United States is an "idiocity?" Loving that hate that's coming from Central America.
I think that's overkill for clothing starting in May. I started in April and didn't have half of those things and was content and never cold. I'd recommend one short sleeve, one long sleeve, a pair...
I've hiked on it twice in April just as the last of the snow melted, I'd recommend hiking early in the season, Aprilish, or late in the season, Octoberish. Good Luck!
My wife and I are contemplating it after the AT this year.
I'd recommend putting your heaviest item in the middle of your pack, which should be against the middle of your pack. It balances out the best and distributes the weight better.
Wearing my icebreaker shirt this summer would randomly make my back itch like crazy...
I'm selling mine if you want! Please PM me if interested. It's hardly used, looks new and comes with everything as it was new.
