I'm interested if it is still up for sale.
Among other things, I've done Everest Base Camp,Kilimanjaro and the Salkantay. For whatever reason, the altitude killed me on Kili; it was no problem on EBC. Maybe it was just not my day. Of the...
Out of curiosity, why are you ditching the BA?
If you can find one on sale, the Big Agnes Copper Spur 1 weighs slightly over 3 lbs. The newer Copper Spur 1 UL weighs slightly less than 3 lbs, and both of these are "real" tents.
+1 on the Feathered Friends
I am looking to replace my beloved Patagonia Houdini after many years of rugged use. The thing has just "worn out" and it is time to retire it. The simple solution is to buy a new one, however,...
I have the MSR WaterWorks which is basically the same filter. The best feature of this filter is that it is totally field maintainable - that is, you can disassemble this thing and clean it in no...
One of my sons is in need of a good pair of rain pants to keep him dry walking to class. Personally I have had good luck w/my Marmot Precip pants, however when I went to purchase them I was amazed...
I just can't resist this. Go to www.mchalepacks.com and read Dan McHale's comments about pack weight.
I would carry the comfortable and bomb proof Terraplane instead of any of the UL packs. You have done this before, and you KNOW the Terraplane will get you there.
I'm not sure this is "overkill". It is no fun being cold and wet, and the last time I looked, there was no one selling dry clothes along the trail.
I've had no real problem w/this.
The MSR Miniworks offers the real world advantage of being truly field cleanable, is a very reliable filter and you have the peace of mind that knowing it will work all of the time. It may weigh a...
I've got a Lighthouse for sale. If you are interested email me at [email protected].
If you want to keep your stuff really dry check out the Cascade Designs Boundary Bags. They are totally waterproof.
I am just as amazed by the guy who survived the attack by the eagles.
I would check w/Dan McHale (www.mchalepacks.com) before buying the Wild Things. McHale's packs are in the same weight range as the Wild Things, and you get a far superior suspension system.
I checked into the Wild Things Andinista before purchasing a McHale. The McHale weighs just a little more, however, the construction is bombproof and the McHale carries the load so much better than...
When I did the Springer - Franklin, NC trip, I left my car at Rainbow Springs Campground and had them shuttle me to Springer for the start. The best part of this is that you are walking toward your...
I would seriously consider the McHale. It will cost a little more, but it appears that you have tried most packs out there. At least w/McHale, he will work w/you to see that you get what you want,...
You might consider Mchale Packs www.mchalepacks.com There is an interesting "letter from Dan" regarding lightweight packing.
I can't resist this. A "Yurt" is really a Ger.
I think that is called a peanut butter sandwich w/o jelly.
Preston, Interesting to find you here and see that you might want to do Kili. We went with Alpine Ascents in Seattle (http://www.alpineascents.com)
Check out their website about their trip. ...
