I recently finished a section hike through this area. There was quite a bit of rain about a week ago. All water sources had plenty of water at that time. There's more rain in the forecast, so I...
I stayed here the night of May 7/8, the last night of a NOBO section hike from Kent. Everything seemed in good repair. I had no problem following the blue-blazed trail down from the AT. The...
I see no reason Belter's shouldn't have its own thread.
I stopped in to look around during a section hike on May 7. No issues to report.
I made a video of the area:

I stopped in to take a look around on May 7. No issues to report, other than an unauthorized fire ring in tent site #2. Either I'm really bad at following trails, or the viewpoint that's on the...
I spent the night in a hammock behind the shelter on May 6/7. No issues to report. I'd guess that there are no longer beavers in residence in the pond, as the water level looked pretty low.
I...

I spent the night in my hammock here on May 4. The tent-sites are looking a little over-used, but everything appeared to be in good order.

Stopped in to the shelter on May 4. Found everything in good order, including the pump. A very pleasant area.
There's still a sign for camping at the south end of the Ned Anderson Bridge, and...
Unless something has changed quite recently, Laurel Ridge is a Campsite. There is no shelter there, or anywhere else on the route you're considering.
Have fun,

The trail that is now the blue-blazed side trail to the shelter (and 0.7 miles on to Sugar Hill Rd) used to be the AT. There was more road walking when traveling NOBO from Falls Village back in the...
According to the 2014 edition of the ATC MA-CT trail guide, the Ten Mile River Shelter and Ten Mile River Camping Area are 0.2 miles from each other. Each has it's own privy and pump. So, I think...
Tom,
I never noticed the different terminology. It would seem that a "Group Area" is a camping area that is to be used exclusively by larger groups. I believe this is true for both Paradise Lane...
A 3 night trip mostly in the Wild River Wilderness Area.
There are 4 vid's. I just imbed the first. I'm sure you can find the rest if interested.

I did this loop counter-clockwise (south on AT, north on Mohawk) last week. I started at Lime Rock, stayed the first night near Caesar Brook Campsite, the second night 'stealth' camped near the top...
