Inasmuch as this is the ultralight forum, with respect, I suggest, zero.
Gotta have some Dublin Mudslide!
Lord, you pick the feet up, I'll set them down. Thanks, Buddy!
Hi, from Boulder, everyone.
Most mornings I'm on the trails around the city. My dog says I've gotta do it. That's his job, and he's good at it.
Engineer, self-employed. Kind of a niche specialty, doing structural analysis for instrumentation in spacecraft, areospace and research and development.
Eventually invested in some rental...
I was always late getting the message. Anyway, LW, glad to read that you're back on your hind feet.
All the best!
I've discovered the benefits of a small point and shoot camera. It's taken a while to work down to it, but I've got to admit that from this vantage point, and having previously (a very long time ago)...
buckowens - the instrument panel looks like it might be a general aviation airplane, either a single engine one or a light twin.
dmax - there are pilots on the List who might be able to take you...
Geez, you made over 20,000 postings and you're only 50?
Clearly an over-achiever!
Happy birthday, LW!
Too many.
My parents used to send me a fruitcake every year from some company. Every year I'd call 'em up and say thanks. They'd ask if I liked it, and I'd say no and ask them not to send it any more. They'd...
There have been a few brags so far on this thread, but not a single recipe. I can't believe it!

Separate, hypothetically, the caffine hit from the warm beverage. Now, honestly, which is it? The drug? The bit of...
Mt Squid, my thoughts exactly - how about pack lists of what you carried by the end?
They've been around for a while. I used to use them once in a while until I decided that the liklihood of them self-triggering was too high. When I wanted to use them they'd have been through a cycle...
Six Moon Designs has a 20% off sale through the end of the year, on orders (or maybe only individual items) over $100. The coupon code is: XMAS08.
I don't have any connection to the company...
The discussion reminds me of the difference between theory and practice. In theory, there isn't any difference. In practice, there is.
I suspect that there's a variation in the batteries, maybe a...
There's very limited room in the bivy for a change of cloths, and of course your pack won't fit. I've got one and find it of limited use. If it's raining, you'll get wet getting out of it, for sure....
Without getting into the legalities of the dog on the summit, or the details of dog training, that's a real warm picture - made my day.
Thanks for sharing it.
And Butterfly Moon and Luna,...
More food, and include a decent amount of protein.
Next, make sure that your camp site is out of the wind, and if you're using an open shelter or semi-open shelter (i.e., one of the various...
For what it's worth, and that might not be too much, I saw a digital camera in a bubble-pack at Kinko's. I think it was a Vivitar. It costs $15 and I didn't drop a zero there. It's the smallest one...

I saw a hiking stick and a foam pad... other things I haven't had time to check out yet.
I've used a Sun Shower. Works fine. Decent shower for about 2.5 gallons of water. Nice temp, too.
"The Monkey Wrench Gang," by Abbey, is definitely worth reading.
