Yes it was, she was still logged in.
Have been here all day, just started 2 hours ago realizing I should be more worried :/
Hello,
If you've heard from or seen Trail Angel Mary today at any time please contact me immediately.
I've been at her house all day, and we had plans to make dinner after she shuttled someone...
Thanks for the responses.
I will definitely take the thin-ness of the Platinum into account, as tearing my tent is not something I want to do. I have a friend who's got over 3k trail miles on a...
I'm looking to get an ultralight tent to use in mostly eastern US hiking/backpacking situations.
I'd like to get a 2 person.
I'd like it to have a high vertical clearance, I want to be able to sit...
I own a WarBonnet 3 season down top quilt and love it. In my pack I keep it in an 8L dry sack, and there's enough room for a liner, and long underwear top and bottom.
Strongly consider getting a...
I discovered Injinji toe socks in 2011 on my thru attempt in Hot Springs, NC; I was in need of some foot love and they turned out to be just what I needed. My preferred method of hiking with them is...
Hm, no I was thinking just the 'normal' stuff sold at craft stores. While the Polartec would certainly be a better option, I'll wait to spring for that once I see if I can pick up the sewing well...
I've currently got a single layer, simple fleece hat, much like this design..

A little bit of Googling shows me it's a BPA bottle and not the new Tritan copolyester, so maybe I'll succumb and get a new one and use this for leg heating purposes.
Not that I used it much...
I don't remember exactly how long I've owned it, going to guess 2004-2006?
Markings on the bottom are NALGENE with a 6 under that, a recycle symbol with a 7 in it, and PC under.
Don't know if...
(Not sure exactly what area this would have fit in best, but some people reconstitute or cook food in their Nalgenes so I figured this wasn't a bad location.)
I've often heard of the hot water in...
blue indian.. curious why you say for a side sleeper a quilt is the way to go? I tend to find side sleeping gives me often uncomfortable drafts.
I have a War Bonnet quilt and love it, but am...
A Circuit user gave me this advice, and I use it with mine.. get the tall 1L SmartWater water bottles. Each side pocket can easily hold two, they're amazingly easy to grab AND put back while hiking...
Nine semesters is 4.5 years and I had the summers to commit to a job I love.
The military is not in the equation for me, too much BS. Not looking to start anything with this.
I don't have any debt...
Pyro, I came to this primarily outdoors based forum to find personal knowledge/opinions. I'm able to obtain factual information easily enough on my own, such as where degrees are offered, what jobs...
Pyro your post came in while I was still typing.
I've thought about firefighting. It's one of the few job ideas that affect me emotionally when I think about doing them. I'll have to research...
Thanks for the responses so far. I'm not trying to apply for spring semester, so no decisions need to be made hastily. I'm definitely open to ideas since I haven't been doing much in this front...
Hello :)

From personal experience I'd recommend ULA or Osprey.
Both are EXCELLENT packs.. well designed, extremely rugged, comfortable, etc, and both companies have -outstanding- customer service.
I'd 2nd/3rd/whatever the MSR filter. Having a filter is very nice, and some days you will love it and others you will hate it. I personally didn't filter any spring water unless I was getting it out...
I would suggest not bringing a solar charger, instead an extra battery or two for your phone if it's that much of a concern.
As for how much you will spend... chances are, a lot. Having at least...
I saw a handful of solar chargers on my hike this year, and only 1 person was happy with their purchase/carry.
I would strongly suggest not getting one.. and would instead suggest buying 2 or 3...
Oh trust me I'm interested in learning, I guess I just didn't recognize or want to recognize when I need to look something up.
I guess I'll call them tomorrow to see if they can do the label or...
As someone attempting to learn I should have looked up the regional rate A/B system when you brought it up. As someone attempting to teach you should have pointed this out/explained better instead of...
