Thanks everyone, items SOLD.
Yes it is, feel free to PM me!
Hi all, the underquilt is still available! I’ve reduced the price to $160 including shipping. This includes the JRB weathershield. Got some info from Hammock Gear lending support to what I thought...
Hi poedog your private message box is full!
Hi all, I’m selling them together for $190 with shipping/insurance. The 3S Phoenix weighs 17.2 ounces, is about 47 inches in length, and rated 20 degrees. The weathershield weighs 8.4 ounces. Let me...

JNI64, yes it functions that way! Protects the underquilt from rainy weather, can enhance insulation too. I’m thinking it is the JRB WS2. I don’t think they make them anymore.
Howdy ccchans, not quite. This cover is for the entire hammock. I think it is the JRB WS2. Weather shield. Looks like this pic.
Hi all! I section hiked the AT back in 2011, and since then I’ve held on to this hammock underquilt (gave the Hennessey hammock away). I’m now a tent hiker so I’d like to find this UQ a good home....
Anybody know his trail name?
Just gotta pack it out! I used tampons without a problem. I was surprised to find that hygiene on the trail doesn't veer far off from hygiene at home--once you get some practice, that is. You use...
I've been using the Caldera Keg F on my thru hike this year, and like Wise Old Owl suggested, a bandana does the trick. Just twist the bandana lengthwise, wrap it around the keg and use the ends to...
Love all my nicknames! Thank you for the good wishes, unclemjm. I believe I owe you a trail update.
Sly dog, that's a generous offer. My flight does land after 4...waaay after 4. I arrive in...
Flight is booked for July 19 to Scranton, where I'll take the Martz to Delaware Water Gap. Thanks for the advice and encouragement, yall! I'm super excited and looking forward to being back on the...
Thank you both for the info! Blissful, my flight is not set, but the date is. I'd be glad to consider flying to Scranton--which hikers were you referring to?
Sly, that attachment is super handy,...
I got off trail in early June having started at Springer and reached Catawba, and now I'm gearing up to make my comeback! I feel the clock ticking, so I won't pick up at Catawba, VA but at Delaware...
The recommendation I've received is that light-weight items go at the bottom, midweight items go in the middle, and heavy-weight items go at the top. Other than that, it's a lot of cramming to get...
Many of us have that "omg omg" pre-hike stress; I know I do! I'm touching trail on March 15 and up until yesterday, I didn't have any camping experience. After putting up my hammock and tarp, after...
Before I bought my Montbell Ultralight Super Stretch Down Hugger #1, I was considering the Campmor Down 20 degrees. It's about $120 and comes well-reviewed. Might be a good option for you!
I bought a pair of North Face convertible pants the other day and payed retail. Yeah, it sucked because I'm usually a bargain shopper, but I was really pleased with what I got for the money! Three...
lol howcome? Let's see. I probably can read stuff most people opt out of :P I'm big on philosophy and have been thinking about which text to bring. Perhaps something psychological and anthropological...
Really cool qualitative questions! Can you let us know the general themes of what you find?
Also, you might consider creating a consent and debriefing form to go with your questionnaire for more...

I'll be starting with Thoreau's Walden, or Life in the Woods, and then I'll pick up anything good I can get my hands on along the way.
I'm reading this thread with interest. Whether staying or leaving, it requires some risk and sacrifice assessment. And courage to take action. I was in a similar position of being on a good career...
