Searching for ultralight tarps, I didn't see any that had a reflective side. I thought this would be a wanted feature. Why isn't it? I don't think a reflective coating would add that much weight?

Has rain ever wet your gear, when you weren't using a pack liner or dry sack, but did use a rain cover for your pack? Aren't backpacks sufficiently rain resistant, especially with a rain cover?

On reddit there is a thread mentioning oven bags are made of the same material as Ursack's Opsak. I think smelling less like food is a good idea. They may go elsewhere with a lesser scent.

I wouldn't use it as a pack liner. I was thinking of keeping it in a zip lock, then using it as a bear bag. Maybe you are right and the scent will impregnate food in plastic containers or zip locks.

Has anyone tried Mint-X trash bags on the trail, as a means to protect packaged food from rodents? Also works with raccoons, but I think it may actually attract bears?

This might work, but it's kind of silly to add a filter to filter out the plastic taste, when the bladder could just not be plastic....

Carbon can filter out plastic, so if there is a BeFree filter bottle that contains carbon, I'm in.
