Anyone know if "You" summited...I think his real name is Eddie. We leapfrogged a couple of days in the Smokies back in early May.
I've often thought of bringing my flyrod along on a Cohutta hiking trip. Do the trail(s) run near the river, and are there opportunities for both fishing and hiking?
Why doesn't he get back into the USMCR??
Are you looking at down or synthetic? I bought a 40/45deg Slumberjack "Saguaro"(SP?) CHEAP($39.95) from REI a year or so ago and it's kept me warm down to 32deg in my hammock. Yeah, I was surprised...
I bought a roll of 2mil plastic paint cloth at local hardware store a year or so ago, and just cut what I need. Cheaper than manufacturer footprint -- tho maybe not as durable.
Aren't #1 and #3 the same thing?
Thank you oldbear!!!
Anyone seen or heard from a guy going by the trailname of "Kandu" or "Can Do"?? I saw a WB member listed as Cando, but I don't think it is the same guy. The guy I'm looking for smokes a pipe, and I...
as much as I like the G4, I agreee with Wolf-23000 about the way the pack fits my back, and how it seems to ride low....i've gotten used to the fit over time though, and am no longer "bothered" by...
it'll work fine...and it's cheap! the ccf pads I've used for the frame tend to get a little hot(read: sweaty), but shouldn't bother you; if it does, there are some pads out there that will absorb...
I bought a used one from a fellow WB'r earlier this year and it's great!! I assume GG's CCF pads are designed specifically for a "frame", but I ran down to the local Army surplus and bought a $4 CCF...
i'm having trouble with the link....it takes me to a page full of what looks like code, but I can see the podcast descriptions, names, etc.??
I hated the half zip too, which is why I decided to sacrifice it! All she(my friend) had to do was find a zipper long enough, which I think she found at a Hancock Fabric store -- she then took out...
I had a friend replace the shorter stock zipper on a summer weight down bag with a longer zipper. I unzip it completely for use as a top quilt in my hammock.
Scope's right...and I found this post from Mother Nature from the end of Feb 08. Looks like you'll need a 4WD for BRG access??
The closest road to Bly Gap without backtracking is at Deep Gap, NC...
I like the blue CCF like RadioFreq mentioned, but am close to choosing the underquilt.

Barely ever?
Different thread but same question dixicritter....where did the "make a $1000 in 90 days - legally " thread go? Was it just an Amway scam like I thought?!! :-?
Toward the end of July, after apparently remaining healthy for more than three months, McCandless wrote a journal entry reporting extreme weakness and blaming it on "pot. seeds." -- Krakauer's...
I know this isn't the DIY forum but -- I'll agree with J. Adams about the $$ and weight value of a Kelty lightyear synthetic....and will agree with Maxpatch about the half zip. I ended up making a...
moderator, please delete post #48 -- sorry for the "double" reply
Terrapin, I too saw Bowling for Columbine last night, and was thinking of it as I have been reading all of the comments. I was recalling the portion of the movie where he randomly chose houses to...
