Of course I paid no attention to your time constraints, with my post. :o

There is the Georgia Loop. It's approximately 60 miles. A triangle made up of AT, Benton MacKaye Trail and Duncan Ridge Trail. There are a few different places to put-in. For instance, Woody Gap...
Awesome, thanks Hookoodooku
I'm planning a 7-day section/loop in the Smokies and can't find information on this (or a phone number?)
Do you know if one can leave a car somewhere at Big Creek campground for 6 or 7 nights? ...
The recipe I always return to that is my favorite - also because it is quick and easy and consistent, for me - is to use a bottle of Jerk Marinade. I usually try to find Walkerswood brand, as they...
Stumbled across these via a clickbait ad on FB.

Wool slipper with detachable rubber sole, making them indoor/outdoor. Seems like a great potential camp...
Roaring Fork shelter is only a mile or two north from Max Patch - depending if you're measuring from summit, road crossing, or edge of woods. Water for Roaring Fork is on the south side of camp - we...
For me, it's been years of safe experiences. The only anxiety the first few times out was more about camping solo so far out in the wilderness.
I will however attest to some FREAKISHLY realistic...
I did that section NOBO in '11 and SOBO in '13 as part of a thru.
For resupply in 2011 I placed an ammo-box cache at/near Hwy 76 Cherry Log. (right about here to be exact 34.810961, -84.362387)...
I too carry a couple of Esbit tabs just in case. Came in handy when I miscalculated canister fuel efficiency due to the cold.
I carried a SPOT on my BMT thru, mainly to give my wife peace of mind. And also for the knowledge that if I became incapacitated on some parts of the BMT it could be days before someone happened...
Edit to add - for some reason I had to add a lot of flour beyond what the recipe called for. Maybe 30% more (3 cups instead of 2). At room temperature it just never properly firmed up. Don't...
I've made this before, and have just completed a batch for an upcoming 4-day section in the Smokies. To me it tastes just like peanut butter Power Bars.
Last time it proved too thick for the...
Have Fun! I did a BMT SOBO thru last summer :-)
The pricing on the Vivos seem to keep getting better. Will have to consider for my next pair! ... When my crocs break. ;-)
Perfectly willing. Current pair is pushing 8 years. Haven't broken yet. Also just scored a clearance lightweight down jacket for $20 to try out. :-)
For me, the area where crocs compete with the likes of Vivobarefoot is in price. Walmart brand crocs can be had for <$10 to Vivo's $85. Well worth the extra 6oz, IMO. Also, easy no-hands on/off...
I stuff them toe down in the outer kangaroo pouch then stuff them with odds and ends - bear hang kit, rolled up platypus, eyeglasses case, etc. YMMV :)
I'm still with knock-off-brand crocs. I keep toying with other things - moccasin slippers, Sanuks, flip flops ... but always come back to the crocs.
His wife thinks he's on a business trip to Argentina. Busted!

I like & have used this one.
I wore Merrell Ventilators with the stock inserts, for a 300 mile BMT hike last summer. Got the same thing - edge of heel blisters along the joint of the insole/upper. Mostly on the inside (body...
I was using a Camelbak when I started out because 1) my pack did not have bottle pouches, and 2) I was using a pump filter, so it was convenient enough to fill the bladder without removing it from...
I used an app called Wilderness First Aid ($1.99) in lieu of the added weight of a pamphlet or booklet. As a supplement to my memory and experience ;-)
Ditto. I use one cycling glove on my pole-hand. I would get annoying rubs and blisters from the seams on the strap, or a seam on the grip itself. A glove was cheaper than a fancier pole with a...
