    Exclamation AT to Baxter Peak open 5/28/11

    The Hunt Trail out of Katahdin Stream and the Abol Slide Trail will both open tomorrow, May 28th.

    Default NOBOs finishing yet?

    just wondering if any NOBOs summited and finished on opening day, like last year.

    i have to wonder if there are even any in the state of maine yet. was in grafton notch sp over the weekend and no NOBO entries at the baldpate or speck pond lean-tos.

    Hiked with warraghiyagey a bit back in 2007. Hope he has a great hike. I'll be heading out behind him in July. Hearing that the hunt is open makes me anxious to leave.

    He's been out the past few years but mostly hikes New England. If I'm not mistaken he intends on hiking the entire trail this year.

    Nope. No northbounders were even in Monson on the 27th. Dawn at Shaw's was expecting more sectioneers though, she had half a dozen or so scattered around the Wilderness. There were six older gents at the Hard Drive Cafe in Greenville on their way down to Rebekah's at Lake Shore House to start a nobo through the Wilderness. Tim at the General is still throwing Friday night specials.

    The new owners at Abol Bridge seem cool and hiker friendly. They're eagerly awaiting the first bubble. Master Cards and Visas accepted with a ten dollar minimum.
