Since this is in the "General" forum and you didn't specify which trail, I will mention the PCT trail journal of Red Beard:
http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=15237
It captures the comradery of trail life really well.
My favorite five were Rash, Chin Music, Hoosier, Lady Grey, and Boo Boo. My favorite post was HOBO,s July19th letter to Miss Pain Sylvania.
I had no idea Red Beard was keeping that journal. I hiked with him several times (we talk about each other in our journals). His journal sounds quite a lot like he himself does in person.
Rocket Llama's was my favorite from the PCT this year, though: http://www.trailjournals.com/alejandrawilson/ (her last two entries are about her being stuck in a tent for seven days in a snowstorm, but the rest are much more lighthearted).

I loved reading Tie-Dyed. She posted something almost every single day until right at the end when she had to really push to finish.

I enjoy living vicariously through others, since I can only get out for weekenders at this time in life. *sigh*. Trail journals I liked:
Lady Grey because my parents and friends constantly give me a hard time about hiking alone, so I read aloud her comment about fear surrounding women hiking alone "this has got to stop!". Loved it!!
Chin Music because he gave a realistic, unbiased view of trail life. Plus I bought an Arc Blast on his frequent on-trail mentions. Love it!
Rash because I grew up a southern country girl and I understand his way of thinking and talking :-)
Trouble. Just fun to read. She is about my age and a fellow hammock hanger. Hammocks are cool.

My favorite 2013 AT thru hiker journals: Lady Grey; Blues Man; Chin Music; Rash; Robin and Mary (Paraguay and Twix)
I really enjoyed Clever Girl's journal and now her blog. Great writer and her stories made me really want to be out there on the trail. Seems she and her group had an awesome time & were full of life. Robin & Mary's journal was also good. Doing the AT as a honeymoon would have been wonderful to do as newlyweds. What an experience. Have to keep that in mind for the next wife.

Rash and Chin were great.
Also Zippy who is a forum member, wife had a journal @ http://www.sidewaysgaze.com/about/category/appalachian-trail/
Excellent writer. I had met them when they came into ny on the trail. What stood out was how light there packs were.
Great bunch of folks.
I liked
Moxie's - until she quit updating near end of her thru
Rifle's - until he quit hiking after 525 miles
& Dakota Joe's facebook page - until he got transported out of state
