Default Looking for lightweight material for headcover

I know there are beenies and balaclava's and other ones but I am looking to make a shemagh out of it. I have considered just buying some flannel or fleece type blankets and cutting them up but I just have to ask if anyone has a suggestion for a decent material that holds warmth. I have even thought of going vapor barrier. I know there's lots of ways of doing it I would just like to have one and I don't want it too bulky or it will not work. Anything?

I didn't find one on that site. I am looking for something that can be used with those type of head wear, but also can be used separately. I would like to have to neck protection of a scarf but the head protection as well that can be accented with something else. So I am looking for a lightweight material, even the right merino wool for instance, to make one with.

Sure sounds like a Buff to me. Those things can be worn in many different ways. If you find something better, let me know.

If you really want to DIY a shemagh, that's fine - but commercial the ones I have seen are a relatively open weave.
I bought one for about $15 and it's a great piece of gear.
