Default Anyone hike Glassmine gap to NOC recently?

Was planning on hiking a section around Roan mt but after speaking w Mary at mountain harbor I think I'll pick another section. She said she just picked up a sobo who said there was 3 ft of snow on roan....any suggestions? I have wanted to hike section south of NOC...conditions better hopefully

I'm guessing that whole NC/TN corridor is in similer condition right about now. There is no reason it shouldn't be. Give it a couple more weeks and hope there are no more Polar Vortex invasions and winter storms down there so it all has a chance to melt.

There is still snow on the ground here down in the valleys - Murphy, NC, not that far from that section of the trail. Bet it's far worst wrt snow/ice/cold at those higher elevations.
